Sarah joined the firm in January 2020. Prior to joining OKT, Sarah worked as part of a litigation team in plaintiff personal injury. She then transitioned to Insurance Defence, working for the in- house legal team of one of the largest insurance companies in Canada. The experience on both the plaintiff and defence sides allowed for a comprehensive understanding of civil litigation.
Sarah holds a diploma in Legal Office Administration from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology, as well as an Honours B.A. from Trent University where she majored in Women and Gender Studies, and minored in Indigenous Studies. It was her in depth learning of Indigenous history in Canada, and built friendships with surrounding communities which inspired the transition from personal injury and insurance law to Indigenous law.
Currently, Sarah supports the work of lawyers who specialize in child and family welfare, human rights, land claims, labour and employment law, business and economical development, and First Nations by-law creation.
