Leah has practiced almost exclusively for Indigenous clients since being called to the bar in 2007, with a primary focus on governance and legislative drafting. A central component of her practice is supporting First Nations operating under Land Codes, particularly in the development, drafting, and implementation of land laws.

Leah has extensive experience drafting land laws across a range of areas, including land use, interests, environmental protection, and regulatory enforcement. She advises throughout the full lifecycle of Land Code implementation, from early scoping and drafting, to enactment processes and the operationalization of land and resource governance systems. Her approach is practical and collaborative, ensuring laws are clear, enforceable, and aligned with each Nation’s values, priorities, and legal traditions.

Born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, Leah is a member of the Toquaht Nation on the west coast of Vancouver Island. She obtained her LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2006 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2007 and the Manitoba Bar in 2024. Leah provides her legal services
through a professional corporation.
