Ava recently completed her first year at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University. Ava’s relations are settler and Kanyen’kehà:ka with ties to Kenhtè:ke (Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory). Ava is the Vice-President of the Indigenous Law Students’ Association at the LASL.
Ava completed a Joint Honours in History & Indigenous Studies and a Certificate in Law at Queen’s University. Before attending law school, Ava worked at an Indigenous Child & Family Well-Being Agency. She advocated for responsive service and care to ensure that the rights of Indigenous children, youth, and families were honoured and adhered to.
Ava is honoured to work alongside the team at OKT this summer and contribute to advocating for Indigenous sovereignty.
