Jessie Stirling-Voss (Wa’ya T’so-la) is an associate at OKT. She is Kwakwaka’wakw, a member of the Wei Wai Kum First Nation in Campbell River, British Columbia, and was born and raised in her community. She holds a Juris Doctor and Certificate in Aboriginal Legal Studies from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and is a member of the Ontario bar.

Jessie advises First Nations and regional First Nations organizations on governance, negotiation, and litigation matters, primarily in the child, youth, and family well‑being space. Her practice includes supporting First Nations in the exercise of their inherent jurisdiction over child and family services. She also advances substantive equality in provincial and federal child and family services systems, including through regularly appearing before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal. She is a frequent speaker at conferences and continuing professional development programs and regularly guest lectures and presents to law school classes on Indigenous law and child welfare.

Jessie is a past President and Chair of the Board of Directors at Aboriginal Legal Services and is a founding member of the Canadian Registry for Wrongful Convictions.

Jessie has been recognized in Best Lawyers Ones to Watch since 2024 for work in Aboriginal Law/ Indigenous Practice.
