Selma Becirbasic joined Olthuis Kleer Townshend LLP in March 2018 as a legal assistant. Selma is from Gatineau Québec. She provides assistance to the Managing Partner and several other lawyers who practice litigation, negotiations on behalf of First Nations, in the areas of Aboriginal and treaty rights, duty to consult and accommodate and environmental issues. Selma carries out a variety of responsibilities such as the preparation of documents and follow-ups on files.
Selma has obtained her Law Clerk Diploma in 2017.
Selma immigrated from Bosnia in 1995. Selma has spent much time on the reserve of Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg, an Indigenous Community situated at the confluence of the Désert and Gatineau Rivers, and borders south-west on the town of Maniwaki in the Outaouais region of Québec. Selma has a passion for Anishinabeg Culture, traditions and values that is what drove her to join the OKT team.
Selma is fluent in both English and French and Serbo-Croatian.
