Matt McPherson joined OKT as an associate, after clerking at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. His practice is focused on litigation. Matt advises First Nations on the duty to consult and accommodate, Aboriginal title claims, and Aboriginal and treaty rights. He also works on negotiations, particularly for municipal consultation and accommodation agreements. Matt has worked with First Nations across Canada, and has appeared before courts and tribunals in multiple jurisdictions.

Matt is on the Board of the Native Earth Performing Arts theatre company, and is one of the co-founders of the Little Grape That Could, a not-for-profit company designed to help charities raise money.

Matt is a member of the Ontario and Manitoba bars.
